Digitalia Columbiana, November 2015
These excerpts were culled from documents left on Columbia’s lab computers. We encourage our readers to submit their own digitalia finds to us, via email, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PLEASE NOTE: For those of us who partake in distracted walking (examples: reading emails or surfing the internet on the handheld, and/or severe daydreaming, during locomotion) and/or have been around long enough to otherwise become creatures of habit, the women’s and men’s restroom locations have swapped! (the former ladies’ room is now the men’s room, and vice versa). Due to this creative alternative ergonomic, the ladies have gained two additional convenience stalls, as the footprint of former men’s room is bigger; in times of heavy traffic, this hopefully translates into shorter lines for the ladies, without decreasing the service level of the fellas. Here’s to happier restrooming on the first floor.

Otherwise, these great plans seeking at least three weeks before your talk…The first few talks are obviously an exception, but I will schedule as many extra meeting as needed repairs for their talks.
Feel free to suggest reading about a particular topic with which you are familiar before our first meeting. If not, I will be happy just some.

I’m embarrassed to say that the note I just sent was an unedited product of my first attempt to dictate a message using some new software I’m trying. The following is what I thought I dictated.

Please ignore the first line for my previous message.
The debates and controversies surrounding the language of social difference, such as race or ethnicity, were no less polarizing or contentious in Antiquity than they are today. Ancient literary texts provide outlines of these concerns in ways that could be imagined as “Barbarian Lives Matter” or “Sojourner Lives Matter” in their own times and places.
I hope you are well! I am in charge of finding amazing candidates to work at Success Academy Charter Schools, the leader in education reform in NYC. Some of our most talented teachers and leaders are Columbia graduates. I was really impressed with your leadership and involvement with The Blue and White. You are exactly the kind of candidate that can make a real impact as a teacher!
